Odisha Govt Issues Guidelines for Subhadra Yojana; Check Eligibility, Documents Required

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday issued detailed guidelines for Subhadra Yojana set to be launched on September 17 with an aim to empower women in the state.

As per the guidelines issued by the Women and Child Development department, women aged between 21 and 60 years are eligible to apply for assistance under the scheme.

The date of birth mentioned on the Aadhaar card will be considered for a beneficiary’s eligibility, official sources said.

For 2024-25 fiscal, a beneficiary should be 21 years old or above and below 60 years old by July 1, 2024. Her birthday should be between July 2, 1964 and July 1, 2003.

The detailed SOP came days after Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a broad guideline for implementation of the scheme in the state Assembly.

As per the detailed SOP, the beneficiaries must be the resident of Odisha. Women can be excluded from the scheme on the following grounds:

Women who are getting financial assistance of Rs 1,500 or above per month and Rs 18,000 or above per year under any other scheme of the government.

The woman or any member of her family is a sitting or former MP or MLA, income tax payer, elected representative of Panchayati Raj body or ULB except ward members and councillors, employee and pension holder of government undertaking and boards.

Families having irrigated land of 5 acres or above or un-irrigated land of 5 acres or above
Families having commercial vehicles, light vehicles and four-wheelers
Families having annual income above Rs 2.5 lakh

Documents Required:

The guidelines also mentioned about the documents required for availing the benefits of the scheme. Women applying for benefits under the Subhadra Scheme must have an Aadhaar card in their name.

The Aadhaar card must be linked with the applicant’s mobile number. Applicants must have an Aadhaar-enabled and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)-enabled bank account.

If the applicant does not have an Aadhaar number or if there is a mismatch in the Aadhaar card details, they need to register or correct the details under Aadhaar.

If the applicant does not have an Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account, they need to open a new bank account and ensure the bank account is Aadhaar-enabled. They should  make the bank account DBT-enabled and complete the e-KYC process.
