Odisha Govt Launches Online Academic Support Programme For Class XII Students

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Minister of School and Mass Education Nityananda Gond on Thursday launched Online Academic Support Programme for the students of higher secondary schools in the state.

Around 82,700 students, who have taken admission in 2024-25 academic year, have joined the programme online. Experienced teachers will teach on various subjects online. The students, who have passed Class XII and were preparing for various competitive examinations and entrance tests for professional studies like IPMAT/JIPMAT, CUET, CLAT, NDA, NIFT can avail the teaching free of cost.

Subjects including English, General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude will be covered under the programme. The online classes will run Monday to Thursday from 2 pm to 3.30 pm. The examination will be conducted on Fridays at an interval of 15 days. This test will be done through OMR sheet or computer. The marks of this examination will be uploaded on the SAMS portal.

The principals of government and government aided private higher secondary schools will update the attendance of the students and contact information of all students joining this class directly on the SAMS portal. The principals will give the names and numbers of the nodal officers and mentor teachers for this programme.

Addressing the students who joined the programme virtually, Gond said, it would be of great help to them, especially those studying in remote areas, to succeed in competitive examinations, entrance examinations for higher studies. It can boost their confidence as a greater number of questions can be answered in a short time through this program, he added.

Raghuram R Iyer, Director, Higher Secondary Education and officials of School and Mass Education and Directorate of Higher Secondary Education and teachers attended the programme.
