Bhubaneswar: Taking note of the declining rate of success of Odisha students in the All India Civil Services Examinations, the state government has sought a detailed list of students who have successfully cleared the examinations in the last 10 years.
In a letter to Chief Resident Commissioner, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Saswat Mishra has said the Higher Education Department may also have to recast its civil services coaching scheme.
Mishra’s letter sought information about the exact number of students who have successfully cleared the examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in the last 10 years.
Stating that the Higher Education Department does not have the wherewithal to collect this information on its own, Mishra has requested the Chief Resident Commissioner to get it collected at the earliest.
