Bhubaneswar: In a major relief for the people of Odisha, the state government on Tuesday made it clear that there was no proposal to scrap vehicles older than 15 years.
In a tweet, the State Transport Authority (STA) said, “There is no policy to scrap the vehicles which are older than 15 years. The validity of registration for the non-transport vehicles is 15 years from the date of registration and also renewable. The owners of the 15-year-old non-transport vehicles can renew the registration certificate (RC) at the office of the Regional Transport Officer (RTO).”
Registration of transport vehicle is valid as long as its fitness certificate is valid. The fitness certificate is also renewable, the STA said.
