Bhubaneswar: In view of the prevailing heatwave condition, the state government on Saturday rescheduled the timing of physical teaching in schools.

According a notification issued by the School and Mass Education department, the teaching hours in schools have been revised from May 2. The students of all schools under the department will attend classes from 6 am to 9 am.

However, the ongoing examinations by boards and councils in the state will continue as per the schedule, the department stated.

It may be noted that the government had closed the schools from April 26 to 30 due to intense heatwave condition.

Meanwhile, the department has directed the Board of Secondary Education, Council of Higher Secondary Education, other boards and educational institutions to conduct the learning recovery plan (LRP) prepared by OSEPA during summer vacation. The LRP is applicable to government and government-aided schools.

The students who are being promoted from Class III to X including new admissions and also for Class XI students who will be promoted to Class XII in higher secondary schools will be covered under this plan, the notification said.
