Odisha Govt Sanctions Rs 75.7 Crore For Setting Up Trauma Care Centre In Nuapada

Bhubaneswar: As part of its drive to strengthen healthcare facilities in the state, the Odisha government has sanctioned Rs 75.7 crore for construction of a trauma care centre in the district headquarters hospital (DHH) of Nuapada.

According to sources, secretary, Health and Family Welfare Shalini Pandit has extended administrative approval to the project and directed the officials to complete the project within the deadline.

The DHH will have a level-3 trauma care centre equipped with modern gadgets, laboratory, imaging facility, observation room, oxygen and ventilator as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the sources said.

It may be mentioned that 106 trauma care facilities with a capacity of 1,560 beds have already been set up in different government hospitals. Besides, 18 private super specialty hospitals have been empanelled for setting up trauma care centres.

The government has created a trauma care fund for cashless treatment of accident victims in the empaneled private hospital trauma care centres of level-1.
