Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to audit the utilization of funds of the centrally-sponsored scheme Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), which provides strategic funding to eligible state higher educational institutions.
The Higher Education Department has formed three teams, which will visit the districts for three days in every month. The teams either can stay in the district concerned for three consecutive days or visit three times in a month. During the visit, the teams will review the status of the RUSA project implementation and audit the utilization of the fund.
The department has appointed Rajesh Kumar Mishra as the nodal consultant and asked him to visit 48 colleges in eight districts. Besides, Rashmi Ranjan Biswal will visit 45 colleges in 10 districts while Arun Kumar Burma has been given the charge of 48 colleges in 11 districts.
The department will audit and review the utilisation of RUSA funds received by 156 educational institutions, which include 141 colleges and 14 universities.
