Bhubaneswar: With an aim to further widen the scope of its Mo School Abhiyan, the Odisha government is now planning to expand the 5C concept in more schools in the state next year.

According to sources, a decision in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by School and Mass Education department Secretary Aswathy S on Tuesday.

It may be noted here that 5C is not a new scheme, but a concept under the Mo School Abhiyan launched by the state government in 2017.

While many schools are already running under the Abhiyan, more number of schools are sought to be brought under its ambit in 2024.

Regarding the initiative, Aswathy said reportedly stated that 5C is an integral part of the Mo School Abhiyan. The aim is to connect the alumni with students through ‘Connect’. Similarly, by Collaboration, the aim is to bring all the stake holders together who can collaborate in imparting education to the students. Through all these, an educational ecosystem is being created in the state, she said.

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ on November 14, 2017. It is a unique initiative to bring alumni, their alma mater and the community around a government-run or a government-aided schools together.

The five principles of Mo School Abhiyan are – Connect, Collaborate, Contribute, Create and finally, Celebrate.

As per the Mass Education department, the 5C encourages inclusion. The alumni and others interested in the betterment of government schools of Odisha participate, contribute (financially) and share their knowledge, experience and life-lessons.
