Bhubaneswar: The Home department has written to the Accountant General (AG) to sanction the increased strength of 220 police stations by recruitment of SIs, ASIs, and Constables to 905 posts.
In a letter to the AG, Special Secretary of the department Dr. Santosh Bala said the Governor has sanctioned the creation of 905 additional posts in various ranks over and above the already sanctioned strength in 220 police stations and six Outposts in 21 police districts.
The base level posts meant for direct recruitment rules and provisions shall be filled up on a contractual basis initially as per the stipulation contained in the erstwhile GA Department, the letter stated. The prominent posts will be filled up as per relevant rules and ORV Act, it added.
