Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government plans to provide free coaching to 3,000 Class 11 students for IIT-JEE, NEET-UG and NDA entrance exams for three years. For this, the state government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Unacademy.
Meritorious and poor students will be selected for the scholarship programme from government and non-government-aided higher secondary schools affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha.
To avail the scholarship, the students will have to take an aptitude test on January 15. Registration for the test will begin from December 15 and continue till January 12.
The scholarship will be provided to 1,000 students from 30 districts during 2021-22 – 300 students each for IIT-JEE/NEET-UG and 400 students for NDA.
Only science students will be selected for free coaching for IIT-JEE/NEET-UG. But students from all streams — Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational Courses — can avail the free coaching for NDA.
The income of the parents of applicants should be less than Rs 6 lakh per year.
