Kandhamal: Taking time out of his busy schedule and following his passion proved fruitful for home guard Dillip Patra.
Patra bagged Mr Kandhmal title in a state-level competition held in the district on Thursday. He won the title for beautiful body and health.
Encouraged by the win, his next target is to bag the Mr Odisha title and then move ahead in life.
Dillip, a home guard attached with Baliguda police station, takes care of divyang father, Ganesh Chandra Patra who stays with him.
“My son never neglects his duty. Though he was very tired after his duty and household chores, he used to go to gym regularly,” said Ganesh.
Not willing to be burdened by the responsibilities, he used to finish his chores, office and go to gym. “I work for eight hours at office, spend four hours at a gym in Baliguda for workout,” said Dillip.
The competition was organised by Kandhamal District Body Lifting and Weight Lifting Association.
Baliguda police station IIC Prashant Kumar Behera said, “Dillip works really hard with with dedication. We are proud of him.”
“Though he belongs to a remote area like Baliguda, Dillip could get the title. I hope he will get more success in future,” said his gym trainer Shashank Kumar Pati.
