Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to Jagabandhu Chand, husband of alleged lady blackmailer Archana Nag who is accused of honey-trapping and extorting money from influential people.
Jgabandhu is also a co accused in two other cases – the ED case relating to money laundering and another case filed at Nayapalli police station in Bhubaneswar.
Notably, Jagabandhu is one of the accused in a complaint filed by Archana’s associate Shradhanjali Behera at Khandagiri police station on October 2, 2022. She had accused Archana, Jagabandhu and her accomplice Khageswar Patra of trapping her in their racket, forcing her into prostitution to blackmail bigwigs. In the complaint she had claimed that the couple had extorted crores of rupees from many people by luring them into their trap.
Khandagiri police had arrested Jagabandhu Chand on October 22, 2022. He had earlier applied for anticipatory bail in the Orissa High Court well before his arrest from his Satya Vihar residence, but his anticipatory bail had been rejected.
