Bhubaneswar: Director of Employment-cum-Chief Executive Officer of Odisha Skill Development Authority Rashmita Panda has been served a notice over allegations of misuse of public money for getting the official quarter renovated during her tenure as the Sundargarh collector.
The Lokayukta of Odisha has served the notice on her based on a complaint lodged by Rourkela resident Rashmi Ranjan Padhee.
She has been directed to submit her reply on August 21.
Panda is alleged to have got her government quarter renovated bypassing the tender process. The renovation was allegedly carried out with public money and entailed an expenditure of Rs 68.67 lakh.
She was moved out of Sundargarh in a minor reshuffle in the IAS cadre on June 29. It was earlier being speculated that the Odisha government took the step following allegations that she had splurged ₹70 lakh on her official residence.
The 2010-batch IAS officer had also served as the commissioner of the Rourkela Municipal Corporation and was the chief executive officer of Rourkela Smart City Authority.
