Koraput: Only five and a half years old, Anwita Mishra has already found a place in the prestigious India Book of Records.
This wonder kid from Jeypore achieved the feat by recalling names of 48 Asian countries and their capitals in 40 seconds. She can also name the states and union territories and their capitals in 34 seconds.
Daughter of Shankar Mishra and Madhusmita Panigrahi, Anwita lives in Raju Sahi at Jeypore.
A student of UKG, she has a good memory and can chant mantras, which she remembered while listening to her grandmother, fluently.
“When I realised that Anwita can memorise things fast, I introduced her to countries and their capitals. Then I recorded a video of hers and sent it to the India Book of Records. We recently received a certificate of India Book of Records, medal and a book,” said mother Madhusmita, a school teacher.
“We feel really proud of what she has achieved at this tender age. We never pressurise her to learn things. She remembers them while playing,” she added.
