Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will set up cricket academies to improve the sport at grassroots level and to pick young talents in the state.
This was decided at a virtual meeting in the presence of Sports and Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti Behera and Commissioner-cum-Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev on Monday.
It was decided that the academies will be set up through the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA).
In the first phase, the academies will be set up in 15 districts and in the other 15 districts in the second phase.
