Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC) was conferred 15th Water Digest Water Award for Best Community Lift Irrigation Project for 2021-22.
Managing Director, OLIC Archana Pattnaik received the award from Union Minister, Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Sekhawat at a function held at New Delhi on March 29.
The community lift irrigation projects in the state has been helping the farmers diversify to other crops and ensuring upliftment of their community. The projects have been successful for their cost-effectiveness, ease of implementation and social impacts.
OLIC, which will celebrate completion of 50 years of its foundation this year, has bagged the national award for the first time in its history.
Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Water Resources, Anu Garg and OLIC Chairman Amaresh Patri congratulated the entire team of OLIC for their consistent efforts for excellence.
