Bhubaneswar: Nandakanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the city outskirts has been closed amid the second wave of COVID-19. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy watching the animals and birds at the zoo, and that too from the comfort and safety of your homes.
Even as Bhubaneswar and the rest of Odisha are forced indoors, the NZP authorities have opened a virtual gate to keep the lockdown blues away. The authorities have uploaded short video footages of animals and birds on social media as well as on the zoo’s website.
The uploaded videos include that of bears playing and fighting in the water, tiger cubs playing around their mother, running deer, crocodiles and colourful birds among others.
Besides Nandankanan, there are plans to upload videos of other Odisha zoos and sanctuaries on social media and websites so that animal and bird lovers can take virtual tours, sources said.
