Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported a further decline in daily COVID caseload with 128 more people testing positive for the virus and six deaths in the last 24 hours.
It is for the fifth consecutive day that the state has seen less than 200 fresh infections with 138 on Thursday and 143, 168 and 171 being found infected on Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday.
According to the I & PR Department, 73 of the new cases are from quarantine and 55 local contacts. Among them, 22 are children below 18 years of age.

With these cases being detected from 49614 samples, the test positivity rate has dropped to 0.25 per cent against 0.31 per cent the previous day.
Odisha now has 1,715 active cases.
Among the deaths confirmed by the Health Department on March 4, three are from Sundargarh and one each from Bhubaneswar and Malkangiri and Cuttack districts. The official handle of the department had last posted about 8 fatalities on March 1.
The state has so far confirmed 9091 deaths during the three waves of COVID.
