Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported over 200 new COVID-19 cases for the sixth consecutive day on Tuesday with 218 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
This has pushed the affected tally to 3,40,620.
According to the I & PR department, new infections have been reported from 24 districts. While 129 are from quarantine, 89 are local contact cases.
Bargarh district recorded the highest of 34 fresh cases followed by Nuapada (29) and Sundargarh (26).

With this, the active cases in the state now stand at 1,837 while 3,36,809 have recovered from the infection.
Notably, the state had crossed the 200-mark after a gap of almost two months last Thursday after 214 people tested positive for the virus. Since then, the state has been reported over 200 cases every day. It had reported 208 on Monday, 290 fresh cases on Sunday, 210 on Saturday and 234 on Friday.
