Bhubaneswar: Wild Lotus Fashions Pvt Ltd, a part of MGM Group Odisha, launched its readymade garment manufacturing unit at Chatabara Industrial Area, Khurda.
The fully export compliant unit was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday.
Spread over three acres, the unit has built with an investment of Rs 70 crore. The unit, on being fully operational, will give employment to 1,800 workers out of which 1,600 will be women workers. It will have an installed capacity of 950 sewing machines.
The company will be providing pre-employment and post-employment free training facilities to upgrade the skills of employees.
Initially, Wild Lotus will be supplying readymade garments to Indian buyers and brands like Reliance Trends, Shoppers Stop etc, but in a year’s time the unit will start exporting to international brands and buyers, said Pankaj Mohanty, Chairman of MGM Group.
