Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has requested Alliance Air to increase its number of flights and destinations from Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) airport at Jharsuguda.
Health Minister and Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das took up the matter at a meeting with CEO of Alliance Air Vineet Sood in Odisha Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday.
The minister pointed out that Jharsuguda is a prominent business hub of the state having several mines and industries. Its airport has high demand for air communication of businessmen, corporate employees and prominent persons of different sectors to different destinations in the country, he said.
Considering the high demand for flights from the place, the minister requested Sood to add one more flight from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar and launch another flight to New Delhi. Das also stressed on starting new flights from western Odisha town to Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.
