Berhampur: A day after the assassination of Odisha Minister Naba Kishore Das by an Assistant sub-Inspector (ASI), the police official’s house at Berhampur was found locked and there was no news on the whereabouts of his family members on Monday.

The house of ASI Gopal Krushna Das, located at Ankuli in the south Odisha city, witnessed the presence of many visitors, including media persons, soon after the policeman was held for firing at the Minister on Sunday.

As soon as the news about the firing on Naba Das spread, a large number of journalists including representatives of television channels gathered at the ASI’s residence. They also spoke to his wife Jayanti and son, who answered a volley of queries from the media persons. The family members had also claimed before the media that the police personnel faced some psychological issues.

However, soon after Naba Das breathed his last at a hospital in Bhubaneswar and his demise was declared in the evening, the family members of the ASI reportedly left their house. Their neighbours said they have gone somewhere without giving any information.

While the house was found locked, the nameplate has also been removed and no one knows where the family members have gone and for what reason.

It may be noted here that Naba Das was allegedly shot at by the ASI while proceeding to attend an event at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on Sunday. He breathed his last at a Bhubaneswar hospital in the evening.
