Bhubaneswar: Gopal Das, accused of murdering Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, underwent narco-analysis test at Gandhinagar in Gujarat on Saturday.
Sources said the narco-analysys test was conducted on the dismissed police official after a thorough medical examination and two rounds of polygraph tests of the accused in last two days.
While the first round of polygraph test of Gopal was conducted at the Directorate of Forensic Science in Gandhinagar on Thursday, another round was carried out on Friday.
After the narco-analysis test, the ex-ASI was kept under observation. It takes some time to regain complete consciousness after the complex test, sources said.
An eight-member team led by investigating officer DSP Ramesh Chandra Dora is camping in Gandhinagar. Crime Branch ADG Arun Bothra is also there to monitor the investigation of the case.
The CB had taken Gopal to Gujarat on February 8. It has taken him on remand for five days for detailed investigation and tests following permission from the court.
Though Gopal has reportedly confessed to have killed the minister, the CB is yet to ascertain why he did so. In order to ascertain the motive behind the crime, the investigating agency is conducting the tests.
Earlier, a team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, New Delhi, had conducted a forensic psychological assessment and layered voice analysis test of Gopal at Jharsuguda. A special medical board, comprising psychiatry doctors, also conducted a detailed study of the mental health of the accused in Jharsuguda and the report is awaited.
