Bhubaneswar: Days after being issued show cause notice by Congress for indulging in ‘indiscipline’, senior leader and Odisha legislator Mohammad Moquim said he has already sent a reply, and asserted that he will work for strengthening the party like a dedicated worker.
Stating that he has given his reply to the notice issued to him over two weeks ago in a sealed cover like a disciplined worker, Moquim expressed the hope that the state party’s disciplinary committee will consider his views and take an appropriate decision.
“I have replied to the questions raised in the notice. I have put forward my position. I hope that the party will consider my point of view and take a decision,” the Cuttack-Barabati MLA said.
Stating that he will continue to work for strengthening Congress in the state, Moquim said “it is the duty and responsibility of all party people to contribute towards strengthening the party and I will definitely make sincere efforts in this direction.”
Emphasising that a strong Congress is necessary for ensuring healthy democracy, the senior leader said the party must take all its leaders and workers together to strengthen the organization.
It may be noted that Moquim and another senior leader and Jatni MLA Suresh Routray had been issued show cause notice for indulging in indiscipline.
The move had come after the two legislators reportedly made adverse statements over defeat of Congress in the recent Padmapur bypoll in Bargarh district of the state. They had blamed senior party leaders for defeat of the party candidate, who lost the security deposit in the by-election.
