According to sources, the deceased is stated to be the niece of  MLA from Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, Naba Charan Majhi. The girl was a Plus II Arts student of a private college in Bhubaneswar. She  was staying at the quarters located under the jurisdiction of Kharavela Nagar police station with her brother for the last one year.
