Bhubaneswar: Power consumers in Odisha can now simply give a missed call to the WhatsApp number 9937875999 for instant delivery of e-bill. They can also scan a QR code or simply write ‘Hi’ from their registered mobile number to this WhatsApp number to activate the e-billing service.

The QR code and WhatsApp number are now printed on all bills for the online users with Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL) enabling this WhatsApp service and initiating multiple activation options, including both online and offline modes, to provide a convenient, safe and seamless payment experience to its consumers.

The company has already received the consent of more than 35,000 customers for availing this service. Consent forms are being filled with the help of ground staff at all its division.

To promote this service amid the pandemic, the distribution utility is offering 2 per cent discount on payment of bills through digital mode. Amazon and PhonePe payment channels have been enabled on its website.

“TPCODL has always ensured that the customers are provided with superior services with maximum convenience. The WhatsApp e-bill facility is a step further to enable a digital infrastructure that will also ensure contactless service delivery which is essential during pandemic times. We would urge more people to avail benefits of this facility and remain safe with their family” said TPCODL Chief Executive Officer M. Shenbagam.
