Odisha Officers Asked To Stay Put At Headquarters Ahead Of PM Modi Visit

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday directed its officers not to leave their headquarters during government holidays from September 14 to 16 in view of ‘administrative exigencies’.

The communique issued by General Administration and Public Grievance department is addressed to Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Commissioner-cum-Secretaries and heads of all departments. “In view of administrative exigencies, no government official shall be allowed to leave the headquarters during the government holidays from 14.09.2024 to 16.09.2024. If required, the officials shall report to the office on short notice. appropriate instructions may kindly be issued to the officials down below,” it reads.

With the BJP planning to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha on September 17 for the launch of Subhadra Yojana a grand affair, grabbing national and international attention, the notification is being seen as a step to ensure proper preparations ahead of the mega event.

Restrictions imposed on officers’ movements could mean the government does not want to take any chances in the run-up and during the Subhadra Yojana programme.
