Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has contributed Rs 100 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the government’s “Harischandra Sahayata” and “Mahaprayan” schemes.
Minister of Steel & Mines and Works Prafulla Kumar Mallik handed over cheque of the amount to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in presence of additional chief secretary, Steel & Mines department and OMC Chairman Deoranjan Kumar Singh in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Under the Harischandra Sahayata Yojana, the poor and destitute get financial assistance to perform last rites of their family member while Mahaprayan Yojana has been implemented to help the people carry the dead body of their relative from the place of death to residence.
