Bhubaneswar. The Excise Department has received 19,416 applications for issuing a licence to liquor shops in Odisha through lottery.
This initiative under the 5T action plan, announced on March 2, intends to settle all existing sanctioned IMFL ‘Off ’ and Country Liquor (ENA based) shops for 2021-22 onwards through this system.
The applications have been received for 1156 IMFL and 886 CL counters.
License once granted will continue for five years, including a year of grant unless otherwise directed by the state government. It can be renewed from year to year till completion of five years.

While some districts have passed the last date to submit the application, for others it is April 3.
The lottery will be held 10 days after the last date of submission of application.
