Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangh on Saturday demanded a Vigilance probe into the alleged kickbacks received by some officials of Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in change of centres for the ensuing annual Plus II examinations.

“We urge the state government to either order a Vigilance or a high-level probe into the serious allegations made by a Congress MLA and a BJD MLA who are the members of the examination committee of the Council. Since people of Odisha have the right to know about the deal to include some colleges in the list of the examination centres, they should be apprised of the details within a week,” adviser of the Mahasangh Badudeb Bhatt told mediaperson here.

Notably, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja and the BJD MLA Kishore Mohanty had told the media that some tainted CHSE officials had replaced the previous list of examination centres with a new list of centres by adding some colleges, where malpractices were reported last year.

Protesting against the inclusion of these colleges as examination centres in the revised list, the two members of the examination committee had staged a walkout during the meeting.
