Odisha Police Arrest Inter-State Drug Peddler From Bengal

Cuttack: A Special Task Force of Odisha Police with the assistance of its West Bengal counterpart conducted raids on Friday and Saturday at Baranaldaha village under Palasipara police limits in West Bengal and arrested an absconding inter-state drug trafficker.

The accused person has been identified as Sk Lalu alias Lal Mohammad Sk.

He was wanted in connection with the seizure of 1.43 kg brown sugar from one Safikul Sk, a resident of Mirzapur under Beldanga police limits in Murshidabad district, near Tangi on October 20, 2021.

Safikul had told the police that he had procured the contraband from Sk Lalu, a noted inter-state drugs trafficker.

Sk Lalu is being brought to Cuttack on five-day transit remand and will be produced before the District and Sessions Court, an official release said.
