Bhubaneswar: Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Prof Ganeshi Lal has appointed Prof Santosh Kumar Tripathy as Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University in Odisha’s Balasore district.
He has been appointed to the post for a period of four years with effect from the date he assumes office or until further orders whichever is earlier, an official notification said.
An alumnus of Swami Vivekananda Memorial College and a native of Kaduapada in Jagatsinghpur district, Tripathy was the director of College Development Council; Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Professor, Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, Utkal University.
He has more than 30 years of teaching experience. He has authored 10 books and successfully guided 17 PhD and 40 MPhil scholars.
Tripathy won University Gold Medal in the postgraduate examination from Utkal University in 1984. He is also a recipient of the NIPM Award in 1985 and the UGC Research Award.
Apart from this, Tripathy is a member of several professional bodies – Industrial Relations Research Association, USA, International Industrial Relations Association, Geneva, Life member, National HRD Network, Life member, National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Life member, IIRA, New Delhi, Life member, Indian Society of Labour Economics, Life member, Quality Circle Forum of India, Life member, Odisha State Council for Child Welfare, Member, Editorial Board, Personnel Focus, A Journal of NIPM (Utkal Chapter from 2004-to 2008)) and Vice-President, Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Odisha (2009 -2012).
