Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Bhubaneswar is likely to witness a few intense to very intense spells of rain due to a well-marked low-pressure area over south coastal Odisha, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) tweeted last night.
“So, there is a possibility of traffic disruption and temporary water logging in low-lying areas of Bhubaneswar,” it said.
The IMD has also issued orange warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur and Boudh between 8.30 am on Thursday and 8.30 am on Friday. Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Kalahandi during this period.
Till 9.30 am, some places in Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Balasore are likely to experience one or two spells of rain, it added.
