Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Tuesday received 1,11,100 doses of state-procured Covaxin vaccine.
The consignment reached Bhubaneswar in a special flight. The vaccine manufactured by Bharat Biotech is administered to eligible beneficiaries only in areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Limits.
The state, on Monday, had written to the Centre requesting it to revise the state to private hospitals ratio of COVID vaccine to 95:5 against the present 75:25 ratio. The state cited low presence of private health care sector in the state and demand for the vaccine in government-operate health care centres.
The Centre had revised guidelines for implementation of COVID Vaccination Programme on June 8 and it will come into effect from June 21 across the country.
So far, 17,01,398 persons have been vaccinated with Covaxin in the capital city, as per the Health and family Welfare department
