Bhubaneswar: The cold spell continued in Odisha with the night temperature plummeting below 15 degree Celsius at 22 places in the last 24, Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department informed on Thursday.
Almost every district saw a dip in temperature compared to Tuesday night when 19 places had recorded below 15 degree Celsius.
On Wednesday night, Daringbadi was the coldest at 7 degree Celsius, 0.5 degrees less than the previous night. The only other place with recorded less than 10 degree Celsius was Phulbani at 9, while Keonjhar recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4 degree Celsius, followed by Jharsuguda (10.6), Koraput (10.6), Titilagarh (10.8), Bhawanipatna (11), Sundargarh (11.5), Talcher (12) and Angul (12.6).
The night temperature dropped to 12.8 degree Celsius in Hirakud, Balangir and Sonepur and 13 degree Celcius in Baripada and Chandbali while Sambalpur recorded 13.5 degree C, Balasore (13.9), Malkangiri (14), Nayagarh (14) and Boudh (14).
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 14.4 degree Celius and 14 degree Celsius respectively.
The MeT office has forecast a drop in temperature by 3-4 degree during the next 2-3 days and no large change thereafter. The weather will remain dry till December 20 morning.
