Bhubaneswar: The state’s GST collection in August this year registered 41.32% growth over the corresponding month of last year which was the third highest growth among states in the country.
Of the country’s gross GST revenue of Rs 1,12,020 crore in August, Odisha accounted for Rs 3,316.55 crore against Rs 2,348.28 crore collected in August 2020. This was the third highest growth rate of GST among the states after 49% of Sikkim and 45% of Jharkhand, according to a release of Odisha Commercial Tax and GST Commissioner’s office.
The State GST collection also registered 39.4% growth in the month with Rs 956.47 crore against Rs 686.15 crore in August 2020. During the month, Central GST collection was Rs 792.93 crore, Integrated IGST collection Rs 948.21 crore and cess Rs 618.94 crore, the release stated.
The progressive GST collection till August in the current fiscal was Rs 16,977.92 crore compared to Rs 9,888.99 crore in corresponding period last fiscal. The progressive collection of state GST upto August was Rs 4836.75 crore.
