Bhubaneswar: Odisha Reliance Foundation Athletics HPC’s ace sprinter Jyothi Yarraji rewrote the national record in women’s indoor 60m hurdles by clocking 8.16 secs at the 10th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships at Kazakhstan.
Jyothi earlier finished third in the 60m sprint heats with a time of 7.47 secs and failed to qualify for the finals.
The 26-member Indian squad includes national record-holder Rosy Meena (pole vault) from Odisha HPC and five from Odisha Reliance Foundation Athletics HPC — Amlan Borgohain (men’s 60m sprint), Jyothi Yarraji (men’s 60m hurdles & sprint), Elakkiya Dasan (men’s 60m sprint), Sapna Kumari (women’s 60m hurdles) and Tejas Shirse (men’s 60m hurdles).
