Odisha Reports 178 New COVID Cases, 21% Infectees Children

Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 178 new COVId cases in the last 24 hours against 160 the previous day.

The state had reported 173 cases on Saturday, 286 on Friday, 195 on Thursday, and 255 on Wednesday.

According to the I & PR department, 105 of the new infections are from quarantine and 73 local contacts. Among them, 37 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda reported the highest of 85 cases followed by 15 in Sambalpur. Twelve districts reported nil cases.

Here are district-wise details of the new cases:

  8. Jagatsinghpur: 2
  9. Jajpur: 5

  11. Kendrapada: 1
  12. Keonjhar: 2
  13. Khurda: 85
  14. Koraput: 1
  15. Mayurbhanj: 6
  16. Puri: 3
  17. Sambalpur: 15
  18. Sundargarh: 10

Besides, 19 from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 55,574 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.32%.

While the affected tally has touched 10,51,752, Odisha now has 1,898 active cases.
