Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha remained above 200 for the fourth consecutive day on Friday as 270 more people tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 252 new cases on Thursday, 237 cases on Wednesday, 228 cases on Tuesday, 197 cases on Monday, and 191 on Sunday.
Among the new cases, 57 are in the 0-18 age group, which is 21 per cent of the total reported cases.
According to the I & PR department, 159 are from quarantine and 111 local contacts. Khurda reported highest with 124 new cases, followed by, Dhenkanal (20) and Cuttack (16). Eleven districts saw nil cases.
Besides, 30 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 57,384 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.47 per cent. The TPR was 0.43 per cent on Thursday, 0.38 per cent on Wednesday and 0.45 per cent on Tuesday.
While the affected tally has touched 10,49,867, Odisha now has 2,425 active cases.
