The commission has referred to the news on his death in various publications which it has kept in record.

On July 24, police had resorted to firing after Hyder snatched an AK-47 gun from a cop and threatened them while being shifted from Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack to Baripada Circle Jail.

He received at least three bullet shots in the encounter near Simulia in Balasore district.

A case has been registered in this connection at Simulia police station under Sections 307, 353, 294, 506, 224, 392 and Section 27 of the Arms Act.
