Police also arrested one of his accomplice, who had helped him in escaping from police custody, during a medical check-up. The two have been identified as Kishore Das alias Jata and his accomplice  Jyoti Ranjan Rout alias Chikun.

Police said a woman had lodged a complaint at Chhend police station alleging that a man has been forcibly keeping physical relationship with her by threatening her of dire consequences.

Police registered a case and nabbed Das of Chhend area on June 19. The same day he was sent for medical examination to Rourkela Government Hospital, along with three escorts. During this time, Das had asked the escorts to allow him to go to washroom and ran out of the hospital. He fled with a accomplice on a Bullet who was waiting outside.
