Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has submitted a preliminary memorandum of around Rs 1130 crore for damage caused by the recent floods to the Centre.
The memorandum was submitted to an inter-ministerial Central team on Wednesday, a senior official said.
The preliminary memorandum covers the losses rendered by the floods to roads, bridges, office buildings, houses and crops as well as the relief measures undertaken by the government, the official said.
The state government will send a final memorandum to the Centre seeking assistance from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) after a detailed assessment, he added.
Meanwhile, the six-member inter-ministerial team led by Praveen Vashista, Joint Secretary (LWE), Ministry of Home Affairs, which arrived in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday to assess the flood damage in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Puri will meet senior government officials on Thursday evening.
The team had visited the flood-hit areas of Bhadrak and Jajpur districts on Wednesday. It will visit Kendrapada and Puri districts on Thursday and return to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon and leave for Delhi in the evening.
