Bhubaneswar: Ahead of bidding a tearful adieu to Odia actor Pintu Nanda, who breathed his last two days ago, his friends and near and dear ones on Friday shared plans for his final journey and last rites.
The last rites of Pintu Nanda, who passed away while undergoing treatment at a Hyderabad-based hospital on Wednesday night, will be performed at Swargadwar crematorium in Puri today, family sources said.
Actor Bobby Mishra told reporters that the mortal remains of Pintu will be taken to his elder brother’s house where the rituals as per Hindu religion will be performed.
Thereafter, the body will be taken in a flower-bedecked vehicle to Acharya Vihar Club in Bhubaneswar where Pintu spent memorable days with friends and well wishers. The actor used to visit the club frequently, he said.
All friends, who stood by Pintu through thick and thin till the end, will assemble at the club to pay tributes to the late actor. “Pintu loved the club very much. His soul was always there,” said Bobby.
Actors, actresses, fans and followers are likely to gather to have a last glimpse of their favourite actor.
Thereafter, the body will be taken to Swargadwar in Puri and consigned to flames, Bobby added.
The body of was brought to Bhubaneswar in a flight on Thursday night, a day after he breathed his last at Hyderabad hospital. His wife, relatives, fans and Ollywood actors were present at Bhubaneswar airport.
Pintu was undergoing treatment for cirrhosis of lever at the hospital in Hyderabad.
