Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishaw on Monday said that Odisha will soon get the second Vande Bharat Express train on Rourkela-Bhubaneswar route.
While addressing the public during the inauguration of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express with Tejas rake at the railway station here, the Rail Minister said that the route chart of the the second Vande Bharat has been finalised and it will cover Rourkela, Sundargarh, Talcher and Angul.
“While flagging off the first Vande Bharat Express, the Prime Minister had promised another semi high-speed train for Odisha. Keeping with that promise, second Vande Bharat will soon run from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar,” he said without disclosing the launch date.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched Odisha’s first Vande Bharat train between Puri to Howrah on May 18 via video conferencing.
On Sunday, Vaishnaw, who is on a two-day visit to Odisha, had said that 50 students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir school will be selected through a competition and given a free ride on Vande Bharat Express. “When the students saw Vande Bharat’s video, they had a desire to travel in the Vande Bharat Express. A competition will be conducted and of them, the 50 students who are selected will be given a ride,” Vaishnaw said while talking to the reporters.
