Bhubaneswar: Four days after announcing auto-promotion for Class I to VIII students, the Odisha government has decided to conduct revision classes for them from the next academic session.
In a letter to the Director, Elementary Education, the School and Mass Education Department said remedial classes will be held for the students of Class 1 to VIII for the first 2-3 months of the next academic session to raise their competency level.
These students were not able to attend physical classes last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision of the department will be applicable to all government, aided and all unaided private schools.
While the department is yet to announce the date for commencement of the new academic session, it is likely to begin in June keeping the scorching summer in April and May and the fresh COVID scare.
