Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Twin City Commissionerate Police have decided to banish notorious miscreants from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack ahead of the festival season, Commissioner of Police (CP) Sanjeeb Panda informed.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Panda said police have geared up with comprehensive security measures, including increased surveillance to ensure a peaceful festival season.
“The police have ramped up security efforts across critical areas of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack with a focus on activities of history-sheeters who will be banished from the cities limits,” the CP said.
Under Section 45 of Odisha Urban Police Act, Tadipar orders will be issued against notorious miscreants who are very likely to cause trouble and disturb peace during the festival season, he said.
DCP Prateek Singh informed that details of robbers, property offenders, and extortionists is being compiled to enforce the externment orders. “Anti-social elements found disturbing peace will be dealt strongly,” Singh said.
