Odisha Vigilance Unearths 3 Multi-Storey Buildings, 14 Plots, Farm House During Raid On Junior Mining Officer

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday unearthed huge assets, including 3 multi-story buildings and 14 plots, during raids on properties linked to Padmanav Hota, Junior Mining Officer (JMO), Keonjhar.

The raids are being conducted by Vigilance sleuths at seven places linked to the JMO on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

During the ongoing searches, Vigilance sleuths have so far unearthed 2 multi-storey buildings, including a 4-storey bungalow of 5800 square ft in Bhubaneswar, 14 plots, a farm house of 5 acre, and other assets, Vigilance said in a release.

The following assets have been unearthed in the name of Hota and his family members so far;

1. One Four storeyed building with area 5800 Sqft. located at Karodakanta, Bhubaneswar.

2. One Double storeyed building with area 10000 Sqft. located at Jagannathpur, Keonjhar.

3. One building at located at Jamadeipur Sasan, PS-Tamka, Dist-Jajpur.

4. One Farm house spread over 5 acres of land located at Madanpur under Ghasipura Tahasil, Dist-Keonjhar.

5.14 nos of plots of which 4 in prime areas of Bhubaneswar & Cuttack and 10 in Danagadi, Jajpur. Details as under;

i) A piece of land vide plot No.222/1209 at Karodakanta, Bhubaneswar.
ii) A piece of land vide plot No.617/9550, Khata No.796/2523 with area A 0.0689 dcml. at Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
iii) A piece of land vide plot No.B/63 & B/64 with area A 0.09 dcml. at Silver City, Pratap Nagari, Cuttack.
iv) A big patch of land vide plot No.862, Khata No.71 with area A 1.000 dcml. at Ostapal, Danagadi, Jajpur.
v) A big patch of land comprising 9 plots of area A 1.16 dcml. Mauza-Jamadeipur, Danagadi, Jajpur.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/plots/ farm house are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

6. Bank, Insurance & Postal deposits and other investments etc. are being ascertained.

7. 1 four-wheeler & 2 two-wheelers.

The ongoing searches are led by 7 DSPs, 5 Inspectors, 8 ASIs and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. The rads are being conducted at seven places in Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar, Bhawanipatna and Jajpur.
