Bhubaneswar: A volunteer for trial of COVID vaccine has made a donation of Rs 18,350 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The COVID warrior, Shiv Shankar Jena, who sells tea at a stall near RTO office in the city, handed over the cheque to chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra at Lokseva Bhawan on Wednesday.
When the COVID vaccine was introduced in the state after the spread of pandemic, Jena had volunteered for its test. He used to go to the SUM Hospital for various tests as part of the trial regularly.
Jena, who was paid Rs 6,750 towards conveyance during the trial of the vaccine, felt happy after the trial proved successful and the vaccines were given to the people.
