Sonepur: An elderly woman died of electric shock while cleaning house on the occasion of Manabasa Gurubar at Rahila village under Binika police limits in Odisha’s Sonepur district early on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Basan Naik (65).
According to sources, the woman received shock after coming in contact with an electric wire and was rushed to Binika Community Health Centre in a critical condition. She, however, was declared dead by doctors.
Police have sent the body for postmortem and started an investigation.
