Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s daily COVID-19 cases continued to rise with 231 cases reported on Saturday.
Thirty cases are in the 0-18 age group. While 135 cases are from quarantine, 96 cases are from local contacts.
Khurda district continues to report the most cases at 99 followed by Cuttack at 35. Here’s the district-wise tally of cases:
Besides, 25 cases are from the state pool.
With 13,628 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) stood at 1.69%.
The number of active cases also crossed the 1,000 mark at 1,035.
The state reported 204 cases on Friday with 872 active cases.
With Odisha continuing to register COVID cases in three figures and Khurda district emerging as the hot spot, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday imposed the following restrictions in its jurisdiction.
* All citizens residing within BMC area as well as those coming from outside to BMC area or present in BMC area will have to wear mask appropriately in public places.
* All citizens have to maintain social distancing of 2 metres in public places.
* All malls/shops/store owners will ensure social distancing of 2 metres on their premises. The responsibility of adherence to social distancing lies with the owner.
* People are advised to maintain hand hygiene frequently and observe appropriate coughing/sneezing etiquette at all times.
* They will refrain from spitting in public places.
* CEOs/managers/government departments/private offices will ensure that employees are observing COVID-appropriate behaviour.
